| National Night Out |
|
Fremont is celebrating it's annual 23rd National Night Out event! This year's theme is entitled, Celebrating Neighborhood Unity. |
|
National Night Out is an annual nationwide event designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and unity, raise crime prevention awareness, and develop partnerships between the City and the community on a street, block, and city-wide level. For the past few months, the Crime Watch Unit has been preparing for the city-wide celebration that will include Neighborhood Crime Watch groups, CERT members, homeowners associations, and other neighborhood groups interested in celebrating and strengthening their neighborhood connections.
Hosting a National Night Out party is a simple way for people to meet one another, have fun, and explore how they might work together to improve the safety and quality of their neighborhood. Groups of City of Fremont elected officials, commissioners, and employees, including police and fire department staff, enjoy visiting National Night Out events to help strengthen the ties between residents and the City. Last year we had 121 parties, and every party received at least one visit.
Although it is too late to register for a block party or a Neighborhood Host, we encourage you to visit our Crime Watch web page for additional information on Community Involvement for Neighborhoods and Businesses. We also have a City of Fremont Community Involvement web page that lists additional ways how you can become involved in your community.
If you are a registered participant or would simply just like more information, please contact Community Engagement Specialist Karen Blount by email: Kblount@ci.fremont.ca.us, or phone: 510/790-6689.
